Indonesian Restaurant Nusantara in Dammam

Throwback post originally dated : 21 April 2015

Before going to Dhahran Mall, went to have our lunch at Nusantara Indonesian Restaurant in Dammam. We went out at around 2pm and thus we reached dammam city before the Asr Prayer. Despite the day was Friday which is a public holiday in Saudi, the city road seemed clear and not jammed as yet. (maybe people will most probably go out after Maghrib or Asr).

It is quite easy to go to the restaurant as it is quite straight forward. There are a variety of Indonesian food stated in the menu BUTTTTT the ones that we want are not available. We wanted to sample the Ayam penyet and ayam bakar menu which was said to be the hit of this restaurant. Since the menu are not available, we have to settle with tomyum (i can go to jubail  thai restaurant for this), fried mee, rendang and fish.

Not a very good first impression for us tho and my husband do not want to go to that restaurant again. Pricing wise - it was OK. standard saudian food price.

GPS point of the restaurant

Have to park a bit far as the parking lots nearby the restaurant are all full.

At the entrance of the restaurant

large mirrors. great for selfies..but the sun is too glaring

Menu at the restaurant. We wanted to try Ayam penyet and ayam bakar which was recommended by husband's friend. But the menu is out of stock and not available. Blerghhhhhhhh

The interior of the restaurant

Got some by the beach paintings on the wall

Mommy is already bored waiting too long for the food to arrive

We waited for quite a while. The service is too slow.

The fried mee is quite OK

Ordered tom yum which is quite disappointing

Ergh they only have this indonesian soy sauce.
